Bookstore Sales Decline in September

Authorlink News/November 15, 2010--Bookstore salles declined 7.7% to $1.51 billion, the worst month so far this year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
In August, sales fell 6.5%, resulting in a 2.6% decline to $12.31 billion for the first nine months of the year.
The bookstore drop  is in stark contast to general retail sales, whcih were up 7.6% in September and 6.3% for the first nine months of 2010.
