Hi Everyone,

Our April 1 issue is packed with video, audio and text interviews with bestselling and debut authors. And that's no fooling. Don't miss this big edition at www.authorlink.com.

First, there's a 14-minute interview with bestselling author Elizabeth George, plus lots of how-to writing advice from the pros.
We're happy to announce that one of our own Authorlink writers, Karen Harrington, has landed a great publishing contract with Kunati Books, which has been called by the American Library Association as "the publisher to watch." Author Ordered to Pay Back Regnery Advance; Random House Revenues Dip

Hi Everyone,
Despite the slump at Random House, due mostly to a weak dollar, bookstore sales for the month of January showed solid gains, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
Of particular interest to authors this week was Regnery Publishing's win of a second legal round with author Richard Miniter. The ruling says Miniter has to pay back the $150,000 advance he received from the publihser. Click the link below.
News has just broken that Audible.com has been purchased by Amazon.com. We'll have a story on this later.
I do encourage writers who are serious about their work to sign up for Lisa Dale Norton's one-night-only onlin discussion on memoir writing. You won't be disappointed. To enroll, see www.authorlink.com/classroom/classroom.php . Also check out the other writing classes there, too.

Authorlink News for March 6

Hi Everyone,
This week's news round-up includes some not-so-good news for Barnes & Noble. In the face of sales that are barely creeping along, their stock ranking has been downgraded to "neutral." Positive news is that Penguin USA has strong results for the quarter and the year, and the publisher has launched a new Hispanic imprint. Also, we can expect good things to come from Karen Rinaldi's move to Rodale as publishing director. See all these stories on Authorlink.com.
Best,
Doris
